Mom Accused of Murdering Boy, 3, Who Disappeared From Nevada in 1986

A Florida woman is accused of murder in the cold case killing of her 3-year-old son, who disappeared more than 30 years ago, PEOPLE confirms. Amy Elizabeth Fleming, 60, was arrested on Jan. 29 and charged with the murder of her son, Francillon Pierre, and is scheduled to be extradited back to Nevada, where the boy went missing. North Las Vegas Police Officer Eric Leavitt tells PEOPLE the boy, nicknamed Yo-Yo, has still not been found. Fleming told police that the last time she and the boy’s stepfather Lee Luster saw her son was on Aug. 2, 1986, at the Broad Acres Swap Meet in North Las Vegas, the Palm Beach Post reported. At the time, she claimed the boy wandered off. Police suspected Fleming and the boy’s stepfather had something to do with his disappearance but no charges were ever filed. “Everything was suspicious but there was no evidence,” says Leavitt. Luster has not been arrested, according to Leavitt. According to the Post, the couple were accused of beating the boy and were charged with child abuse in December 1985. They were scheduled for trial when Francillon went missing. Instead, the two pleaded no contest to the charges and were sentenced to five years’ probation, the Post reports. • Want to keep up with the latest crime coverage? Click here to get breaking crime news, ongoing trial coverage and details of intriguing unsolved cases in the True Crime Newsletter. A month after the boy went missing, Fleming and Luster scheduled a garage sale of the boy’s toys to make money to relocate to Seattle, but they didn’t go through with the sale after media reports, according to the Orlando Sentinel. According to the Post, the couple tried to put the blame for the boy’s disappearance on his father, Jean Pierre, who lived in Haiti. However, police tracked him down in Haiti and no traces of the boy were ever found. He was cleared after he passed a polygraph test. Less than a year later, the couple moved to Florida. It was not immediately clear if Fleming has retained an attorney. (People.com Latest News) More More
